Registration plate-size

This might sound like a really silly thing to be asking but it is actually quite important, my situation you see is....I am in the process of buying my boyfriend a personalised number plate for his white Starlet Turbo, but during the call the guy mentioned size of plate, what is the actual standard size of the front and back plate on a Starlet?
I don't want him to guess what I'm doing by measuring, plus I would be out of pocket if I had to buy it and it didn't fit, so I'm looking for accurate sizes.

On a Glanza anyway not sure if GT is the same.

think my jap plates are 300mm x 178mm but has motorbike size lettering.

Both are great answers, but I'm looking for both plate sizes? The square front and the rectangle back.

Both are the same size on a glanza, 13 x 6.5 fits the front and back recess perfectly.

Are reg plates not a standard size?? Japanese plates (square) and regular plates (rectangular)
Starlet's are square plates on front and back unless his back bumper isn't standard??

Well its clearly not running standard style plates, as standard they are both the same size.

With that in mind we could be here all day guessing so your going to have to get creative and find a way of measuring them yourself without your bf knowing.
