removing gear stick from plastic housing HELP PLEASE

as it says above im want to know how do u remove the gear stick from the plastic houin as i want to follow the tutorial on making a quick shifter on www.ep91.com with a g.stick that i got yesterday in the scrappie.
has any one removed the gear stick before, its just im not how to take the top part of the housing off in order to get the g. stick free.

isn't there a couple of pins that holds the stick and bracket onto the main unit ?

knock the 2 pins out and lift out the stick , and it has the bracket thing that sits tightly over the ball of the shifter... you can put the stick in the vice and just pull the bracket thing off with your hands if your strong enough...

been a while since i've done it , but it's a piece of piss to get it apart..
