Replacing rear decals on a Quadlamp

Thought I'd share this one as the camera was handy.

Tabs decided the rear stickers on his mk3 GT were a bit tatty:

So I sourced a fresh set new from Toyota. Part numbers are in the pics for reference:

You can see the white backing card on the decals has been cut at a slant to make positioning a gift. All you do is line the lower edge of the decal to the lower edge of the panel and line the sloped edge up to the inner edge next to the bootlid and you can't go too far wrong.

Removing the old decals required careful use of a heatgun, the edge of a credit card and a fair amount of cursing:

Excuse any spots of dirt on the 'finished' photos:

Actually think the black spots on this side were chips on the bumper:

Refreshed arse-end:

It's the little touches like this that can sometimes make the difference so well worth doing.

Can you source any more of those decals Jay? My local dealer is all out.

Did you use the part numbers shown here mate?

Worth noting the dark coloured GT's came with light coloured decals and vice versa so there is a slight difference in part numbers. One type can run dry before the other just like what happened with the door decals. HANG ON - Just checked this and I'm talking BS, the rear decals only came in one colour shown above..

I may need the dark decals, I'll ring again tomorrow to see if they have those ones in stock.

Do you know the part numbers for the darker decals?

Ah that's why the Toyota person must have thought I was on smack when I was asking him about the darker colored stickers :)

Does your local dealer have any of them left in stock Jay?

I can ask mate. Think we are tied into the Irish importer when it comes to parts stock which might explain why things are available in the mainland but not in NI.

If you can that would be fantastic.

Just drop me a pm or something if you can get hold of them with cost and I'll gladly drop you some £ sterling for a set.
