Revving @ 2800rpm when idle

hi lads

started my ep82 this evening and she was revving at 2800rpm when idle. when i drove it wasn't too bad but when i shifted throught the gears it revved a bit.

what could be the issue here?

have you tired to turn down the idle control screw?

the revs seem 2 high for a boost leak tbh... how does you accelerator pedel feel??? does it rev to this on cold idle and warm idle???

check ur car for coolant .. fitted engine two weeks ago started it without no rad idled bout 2800 so check that id say

leak from the hose that goes from the plenum to the pcv valve on the rocker...

have to agree with this man just happened to me two days ago my grommet on the rocker cover was split got a new one and its perfect

took it to the mechanics this morning, twas lacking water in the radiator. he had to bleed it and the revs went back to normal. the fan came on when i started the car which shouldn't happen. he thinks that either there is a crack/hole in the radiator or the thermistor isn't working properly. taking it back to him on tuesday morning.

i drove it home and about 30 minutes i decided to head down to the supermarket, halfway down the road, the exhaust starts rattling and the car sounded like a impreza!! the car is shaking when i press on the accelerator. the exhaust unit is shaking mad.

something is telling me that your throttle body is goosed and is letting in water to the engine...any smoke from exhaust??? check around your throttle body for leaks and to be sure do a compression test to rule out other symptoms..

doesn't seen to be any smoke from the exhaust, i'll let the mechanic do his thing on tuesday and hopefully it won't cost too much.

took the car out to a lad in porirua (20km outside wellington) and he found out twas running on 3 cylinders so he sorted me out and she is running like before. i'll still take it to the mechanics on tuesday.

If the fan is running constantly it might be that the air con was removed,If it has find the old plug (should be on the right hand side of the engine) ,its a 2 pin type plug,just use some wire to loop it onto itself.
