Planning to paint my rocker cover in the next few days. Just wondering is there any way to protect the finish on areas I don't paint. Would normal laquar(sp) work or just flake off in a week.

Yea, that's what gave me the idea to spray it. Thing is I want to leave some of it polished and wondering is there a way to protect the polished metal witout having to constantly repolish, eventually taking off the newly painted areas.
