hi, just booked a rolling rd session with fms in ipswitch, he told me he,d need car for couple hrs,is this rite? my cars 90% set up,running 1 bar,safc2,hks fcd,hks evc5 boost controller, manifold,de cat,3" exhaust, i say 90% set up as i had it up pod at weekend, started with a shitty 21 sec, played with safc,17,15, bit more tweaking, and pulled a 13.4 sec @ 106 mph, aem wideband shows 10-5 wot, so i know its still over fueling at wot, knock sensor on safc 2 started at 18 driving from cambridge, down to 2-5 after tweaking so all in rite direction? cheers

if all you have to adjust is a safc and its almost there then it shouldnt take them long. 10.5 is very rich though. you want just over the mid 11's really

do you know of a decent tuner/rr around cambs/norfolk/suffolk area, not too sure i have confidence in fms, as told him all my details f pod and fueling and he still rekond he,d need 2 hours

2 hours is no time mate. takes about half an hour to even get the car on the rollers and do a power run.

all tuners round this way are crap as far as i know mate. if someone recommends a decent one then let me know as i havnt found one yet.

i dont think frost are that bad tbh. its only a simple fuelling setup they will be doing on yours. how much are they charging may i ask?

about average then. if they can get it done in 2 hours and its done well then its all good. they may even get it done quicker!?

thats all well and good but if you dont know what your trying to achieve and you are getting knock you dont know about you risk damaging the engine. and you most likely improved your time due to practice more than the tune.

i kno enough to know hardly any knock under boost 0-2 and normal driving 4-6 is way better than the 18 i drove to pod with,my afr,s need to come up to 11-5,11-75 or so at WOT, not the current 10-5 im getting on flat to the floor driving,i took a degree or 2 out of timing which obviously was slightly advanced adding to the 18 on knock sensor, i know the stock sensor and safc2 dont work 100% accurately, but its definately going in rite direction, really just looking for bit of informed advice on what readings i should be seeing, thanks for replys mate

here in South Africa it takes 30min to 2 hours. 30 min is full mapping and 2 hours is when they do fault finding and fix problems and then dyno

you can map a full power run fairly quickly, but if you want to make sure it runs well throughout the rpm/ boost range it takes alot longer.

i would be a bit worried about how good a map it is if the whole job was done in 30 mins.

x2, it takes a bit of time to do it properly

Its not just a power run, mid and fast cruise afrs should be set as well.

£160 for a set up on a dyno is not bad.
