For sale: Rota Grid wheel and Toyo r888 trackday tyres

Item Condition: very good.

Extra Info:I have my Rota grid 15x6.5 et40 4x100 satin black track wheels for sale. They have 165-50-15 toyo R888s gg compound. The wheels are very tidy with just a few little chips. the tyre treads are as follows from the left to right of the 4 upright wheels

1- 5mm
2- 4mm
3- 4mm
4- 5mm

A great setup for the track, the tyres are slightly stretched. Used to great success on my toyota starlet like this

Yes, it was a theory that proved to work. By keeping the sidewall slightly stretched, the tyre doesn't move around as much on the rim, giving better feel and improving contact patch. You wouldn't believe that they are 165s!

Nice wheels - I'd buy them if I didn't already have some Rota Slipstreams. GLWS

Surely though, stretched 165s still have a much smaller contact patch than the 195s would? I had stretched tyres once but I personally prefer the tyres to bulge out slightly to protect the rim.

Ive found the best tyre feel for me is from a slightly stretched tyre (Road tyre- slicks are a different matter) The contact patch is flatter from what ive seen. Im not saying that compared to 195s they would be a better contact patch but i dont believe there is a negative effect. Its a nice wheel/tyre combo, obviously if the tyres are not wanted ill keep them and reduce the price on the rims
