sard regulator flickering

wondered if anyone else had a problem with a sard regulator. mine is the std type and the guage shows it flickering up and down quickly , you can also hear the pitch of it working as not constant.

never got to the bottom of whether mine was a genuine one so maybe thats the problem. replaced it with a borrowed one and it works ok on that one so it is the regulator.

i know part of what they do is to regulate the injection pulses so i guess the diaphram is damaged. any ideas before i fork out for a new one are welcome

The only other thing I could think of Ted would be the fuel pump on it's way out? Maybe it's legs aren't able to keep up the pressure demand. But as you say if you swapped regulators and that was fine it will most likely be that
