Sharan VR6... worth breaking?

Hi Guys,

Not been around much lately, my apologies for not enlightening your lifes with my dazzling wit and wisdom more often...

Anyway, my mate has offered me his VW sharan VR6 with about 220,000 miles and a blown head gasket for £300...the question is, is it worth my while? I reckon it has about £150 worth of scrap metal on it, it's just how much I could make from selling parts on ebay and how much demand there is for parts.

So, buy it to break or tell him I'm not bothered? Opinions will be recieved with immense gratitude!!!

why dont you just change the headgasket and sell it for a grand

I got a sharan to sell as well. engine fooked (1.9Tdi) and just had a new turbo fitted as well. Not worth repairing and having seen spares or repair pieces goin for about £400......not sure if i'd get the cash back....
