hi guys, well sold my starlet last week to my friend and just looking at cars.I really want a Subaru but keep changing my mind when people tell me how unreliable they are.some people say they're nice and reliable too.just wanted some info of you guys any one owned one.oh and iv got about 4k to spend

Brother had 2 wrx had lots of problems with ones he had heavy on fuel too cant really beat the starlets/glanzas for economy and performance imo

shuda kept ya starlet put a couple k in that and now u have a car thats faster and more reliable then a scooby

there common as muck , cost lots to repair and drink fuel , my mate had one for less then a year the engine went , then we rebuilt it and bottom end went just problem after problem

There is life beyond a starlet people tend to.forget that on here no matter what car you say you will always get starlets are better lol

subarus are cool cars can be just as reliable as other cars just make sure you get a good one, they sound.unreal and handle great if you can afford running it, insuring it then i would

subaru

i bought a 97 sti type r absolutely smashing car, looked good went really well handled well and the diff controller made it great fun pity it lasted about 24 hours before i ended up blowing a headgasket so got that fixed and was going well for about another week and the bottom end went swapped it for a gt4 celica,in my eyes gt4 better in every way i will never buy a subaru again unless i feel like wasting my money they are way to soft and way to expensive to fix,my friend has an evo5 and its brilliant i would buy one of them before a scooby any day. like i said gt4 is just as good and better than the scoob in my eyes, way stronger and more reliable. parts can be expensive but anything iv done to it has been my own choice it didnt actually need anything done iv just kept it serviced and hasnt once given me an once of trouble in 6 months

Thanks guys.I know that it would be hard to get something to match the starlet running cost wise.mine was tdo4'd running 215bhp but iv just had enough of them now I think it's time to move on lol.iv had 2 ep82s and 2 glanzas and fancy a change now.what about Audi s3s iv seen a few nice ones and heard with a remap they can make good power.

my mates type r is insane 410hp never had an issue with it he spent some money on it but he stays with the new gtr skyline smashed a bently conitnental gt and a rs4 sounds amazing goes mental fast his is super reliable., and if anyone knows bluebell hill been up it doing 170mph. im a scooby fan but i think an evo is a better way to spend your money

I have only driven one once and I liked it. I would go test drive a few and see what you think. I loved the grip :) amazing when you launch it and see the arse drop.

The Impreza is a good car, nice to drive and relatively easy to work on although maybe a little fiddly in places. The biggest problem with them is usually the people that have previously sat in the drivers seat, many Impreza owners like to think they're Colin McRae competing in the WRC but sadly don't have the support and budget of a WRC team to maintain the car.

Like most cars, if you can find a well looked after example you shouldn't expect too many problems.

I was gonna get a wrx after my glanza but a mate had one and it cost him a fortune to run and wasnt that quick,i ended up getting a type r,good car but serious on fuel like his wrx!sold it and bought a mk4 astra gsi turbo which i still have, does good mpg and handles well, they come with nice recaro interior, very easy to get extra power out of too!i paid 4000 for it

might get a nice clean one.I have a mate who know a fair bit about them so I'll take him along.I'm not too fussed on fuel economy as I only do about 50 to 100 miles a week.plus I have a 1 litre micra for my daily drive.

me personally i would have a evo 5 or 6,but the scoob sti's are nice cars too.but as has been previously said the running costs are way to exspensive..

Subaru are one of the best cars out there... It is pure Jap!
If a Subaru failed on you then it was not the cars fault!!

I say go for any Jap car bud :)

Im Itching to get a scoob but insurance is still a touch too high :( My mates on his second. His first was a total bin, spent £3k trying to fix it and just gave up but it was an early import with about 10 previous owners so had a hard life. He's running a 330 brake blob eye now and its perfect, everythings down to how its looked after i think, also scoobs aint expensive to fix, parts are 10 a penny. Running cost is a diffrent matter though :(

Personally, i like scoobys, bit common, but there like any car, if there well looked after and serviced reg they are very relaible. But if it was my money i would be looking at a nice standed r33 gts-t or evo 4-5
