Hi all,

this may not be of interest to our non-Irish members but I think it is important that our Irish members have a peep.

This site is a result of the disgust I feel at the Irish Government and the way they are ruining our country.

I know we have a lot of members on here with political opinions and so you may wish to comment on the articles as they go up or circulate to your friends or family who are also unhappy with the state of our nation.

im not in the least suprised.i reckon the lads behind podge and rodge would do as good a job running the country,after all,our leaders are a bunch of fucking puppets.

The country is gone to shit and its the goverments fault. They want people to start spending money again but they raise taxes if you want to get people spending you have to lower taxes. They are nothing but a bunch of lazy fat over payed cunts!

totally agree! Check out the latest posts on www.sickireland.com there is one about the cif which should raise some eyebrows.

Great response by someone to one of the threads on the site. It examines a guy who was on €35000 a year and lost his job and is now on social welfare and gets approximately €38,888 per year!

What incentive is there for people to work in this country?!?

My work takes me across the boarder and yesterday I was told (not sure if its accurate) that Brian Cowen if thats how u spell his name earns more than Barrick Obama!!! Also I think the guy told me that the Irish treasurey guy earns more than the current German leader. He did give me the guys names but I can't remember or be assed to look em up :p

The Irish government included themselves in the public/private benchmarking process. Basically back when the economy was in good shape the public sector was losing a lot of its employees to the private sector as they could earn more money there. The government introduced benchmarking which raised the pay of public employees in line with their private counterparts.

The government ministers also participated in this and it now means that government ministers are paid in line with senior executives in private companies. Brian Cowen is paid in line with what major CEO's earn... he is paid significantly more than Barack Obama for running a tiny country... it is disgusting.

I plan on doing an article for sickireland.com on the pay and conditions of the Irish government.

nail on the head there Johnny. We are due another budget toward the end of the year and I think that will be the straw that breaks the back of the Irish people....

Anyone hear bout how the government promised to abolish their bonuses in the budget speech?!! What they failed to tell us is that this is only being implemented for new tds, not the current ones, they made it sound like they were all taking cuts straight away....bullshit as usuall, they always put a spin on things they say to make themselves sound genuine etc--- when infact they are saying something completely different, double meanings constantly so they wont get themselves in trouble. Even with the countrys back to the ropes they are still using the same old dirty tricks that got us in this mess in the first place... lookin after themselves and all their buddys-- makes me f***ing sick.
