Hello every1, my car smokes a bit on idle so i was thinking of putting that liquid in the oil to cure it but a m8 of mine didnt recommend it. what do you all think i shud do ???? also i was thinking of puttin injector cleaner in the fuel tank, what do you think ????
thanks a lot

maybe check the pcv valve just incase.. its the pipe coming out of the rocker cover and into the inlet manifold. you need to take off the intercooler to locate it.
if its not blocked and is ok then maybe do a compression test just to check if the pistons rings are ok

mine was smokin on idle and failed mot on emisions. i put emissions control in the fuel from unipart and it passed. aftwerwards i changed the thermostat and the seals and bearings on my turbo and it doesnt smoke on idle now.

not sure mate? thinkn it was the thermostat and the bearings n seals that made the diffrence. payd £100 to have them done.

No don't put any additives in it's smoking for a reason, it will only mask the problem. Possibly turbo, could be worn engine, rings, pistons, head g, could be blocked PCV, could just be condensation there's quite a few possibilities how bad, what colour and when exactly does it happen?

Many thanks,

Tobs

Got any other promblems with temp? or not good work of engine?
if the temp is upper than uselly then you got promblem with overhead
check the cooland fluid level once and make some km,
and then check it again.
If you dont have any promblems with temp
then check the oil level if is it ok and clean.

theres no colour to the smoke, its just white, only happens when car is on idle or at red lights. engine sounds mint so dont think theres any major probs

if you pay a place to do it expect around £350-£400. if it needs more done to it, it can cost more.

if you think your competant enough to do it yourself you can get a rebuild kit for about £50
