all right i was wiring in a sub and amp the other day and everything went well sounded good until bout 15 min later i noticed my sub was not going with the music it was just constunley thudding then 5 min later my cd player packed in but was still able to eject and put in cds but just no lights or sound. I then checked the fuse box under the steering wheel and it was ok so i put in a new stereo and still nothing happened can any one tell me what to try next to fix the sub or cd player thanks

What kinda power you runnin? Maybe its not getting enough power from your single battery... Check theres no loose connections and all the wires are fixed in place properly...

Sounds sketchy mate, id re-wire the lot, have one staight remote wire from your amp to the cd player, try not to cut wires and join etc... start fresh and join all the wires up yourself so you know they are all in properly..

It may be best if your not comfortable with doing it.
I would give yourself room in the car and lay all the wires out (maybe buy some fresh wires ) connect up the easy wires ( like the ground from the amp, power cable etc. ) Its best to make sure everything is connected & fastened properly mate. An audio place will be your best bet if you feel like you dont want to f*k things up.. Could cost you like £45 per hour or something stupid...

Connect:

red=accessory
yellow=12v
black=ground
orange=illumination
blue=remote

the red wire acts as a switch, when you turn your key it turns the cd player on. If it is not connected the cd player will get power but will never turn on (because red is not connected)

connect red to the red wire from the car harness

if the black is not connected, it will not turn on either. Ground the black wire to a metal part of the car

to make it easier I always i always use male/female clips, that way I never have to cut wire twice, even when I switch cd players

sweet, also, if you havn't already, i would run the + for the amps direct from the battery using some decent cable, you can still use the blue from the headunit for the switch signal and simply use the cars chassis (somewhere like the seat mounting bolt or similar) as an earth.
