just chucked a new set of plugs in. noticed the old ones i took out were not gapped just placed in out of the box. so went to gap my new plugs took them down to 1.0mm and the car would not run miss firing very badly. so returned them to how they were and car runs fine.....

i was under the impression they had to be gapped to like 0.6 - 0.8 ?

does everyone gap there plugs or just chuck them in.

running ngk irridiums

cheers

standard gap for a standard car on standard plugs is 1.1mm.

in theory you should try and run the largest gap you can without problems so you get a nice strong spark. you often have to reduce the gap if you are running high boost. alot of other factors come into play though so its not always clear cut.
