Spark Plugs for 4efte same as 4efe??

4efe uses heat range 6 as standard mate.

The 4efte uses heat range 7 as standard.

Either engine can use platinum or iridium plugs.

Hope this helps.

plug heat ranges

@rahat: a 4e-fe 1.3 litre will proli do best with NGK BKR6E-11 imo, and if you have to get a hotter plug then get BKR5E-11. the general rule of thumb is, if the engine will be run at high revs or at high temps/loads for long periods then a colder heat range plug may be needed and the reverse is true.

you can read more on spark plug heat ranges here. go through the rest of the site for all your other spark plug questions.. you can also take a look at how to read the plug numbers to know what they mean.

They're same plugs but different heat range. N/A has 5, standard Turbo Starlet would have 6, lightly modded - 7, heavily modded - 8

plug gap

just to throw a spanner in the works, the NGK BKR5E-11 i suggested previously have a gap of 1.1mm (thus the -11 at the end of the product code, for those who read the PDF link) but Texx mentioned that the recommended gap for 4E-FE is 0.8mm. i know from inference and reference that smaller gaps give a guaranteed spark, but not necessarily a large/powerful spark. larger gapping on the other hand gives a much larger/stronger spark but you run the risk of misfires. so what's what..? i guess it depends on the overall engine tune and what kinda work it will be put to, correct..?
i've always gapped mine at 0.78mm.
