Spitting flames

People might call me an idiot but I'd like to pop the occasional flame, think it looks and sounds cool (I hope people don't think I'm a chav, I'm not I promise!). Is it easy easy as turning up the fuel pressure to run slightly rich? Am I gonna cause any damage by doing this and how do you adjust the SARD FPR's?

Cheers peeps, hope you don't all think I'm a twat! :p

lol i like flames to! hows it chavish?! at least our cars can do it without a spark plug bodged in the backbox thats chavish lol!!

running slightly rich will not do any real harm but ur fuel consumption may suffer! i would't go too rich though!

if u want to raise the pressure on the fpr there will be a adjusting screw on it somewere my fse one has it on top! just adjust it slightly so that the pressure goes up on the gauge,

but this still may not see u able to make flames!

You should be running rich on boost anyway, so after giving it some beans when the exhaust and turbo is hot you should get flames. Mines belted out some fucking huge ones after giving it some abuse. Doesn't pop or bang, just flames on gear changes. iz teh roxorz :D

ofcourse if you do run the engine too rich you do run the risk of Cylinder Washout - whereby the surplus fuel in the cylinders actually washes off the oil in the cylinders, and well...you can tell where that'll head to :p

But as long as I make a note of how much pressure is there no I'll be able to play with it and if needs be set it back to normal.

As for fuel efficiency, I'm in Cyprus so not too fussed, pay about half of what guys in the UK do! :p

Well I think they will take a little getting used to but once you have perfected launching with them they should be good, plus you can spit flames whenever you want :p

Never heard this before? Will have to do some more research before I buy one then,

but tbh if it only wears the turbo's life down a little a new TD04 is only about £60-100

well there still no good for the engine no matter wat happens, its still teh same as bouncing off the limiter just a bit lower so down to you really.

i wouldnt personally have one but if thats wat floats your boat

Remove the center box if you have one than it more likly any flame produced will make it out the tail pipe. I'm a believer that you should only get flaming if thats what your car naturaly does from the amount of tuning you have done.
