on my 1977 honda cb200 with points and a condensor its 900ish! (2 cylinders) so for a 4e engine im gonna be guessing around 1200-1500ish! but not as much current as people think! the rule to remember is " volts jolt , current kills" from my boss ( im a spark ) haha
Not sure for a 4efte, but thats the average voltage range a coil outputs from its secondary windings. If the engine runs coilpacks, you can run less voltage because the coil has a longer dwell time.
o ok! well reason i was asking is i wanted to put in a more powerful coil (one that powers v6 & v8 engines) hence the query... so im wondereing if it wud be a good mod or not!!
It's not really needed, unless your blowing out the spark from running too much boost. The ignition system just needs to be freshened up, new rotor arm, leads, plugs.
