I raced a lad i no on a drag strip i was in my glanza which is completely standard, and the VTS is standard also, when we raced he was right up my arse until about 90 then he bloody overtook me, i was raging. I thought glanzas were quicker off the mark andjust as quick after that, am i wrong, or is my car just not running right?

Id have thought it would have been a very close race. even though the wee saxos only have 120bhp they are not a car to be underestimated as they are quite nippy for a 1.6. Do you still have the hi/lo boost restriction in place??

As phil said sounds about right, both relatively similar in standard form but the saxo would not have the same tuning potential of the starlet. so kick his ass next time with a few simple mods.

I have never been on a rollin road so i dnt no what bhp my car is, because im sure it will have lost some bhp over the years. I also raced a standart celica gt 150 bhp n that overtook me at 90ish bt i was faster off the mark, is that normal also?

Yep sounds about right get a Full exhaust System and Decat and you will notice the difference straight away:p

No experience with a celica but i wouldnt worry about it, you will get the jump on alot of cars due to being very light but at the end of the day its still a 1.3 and the engine and turbo run outta steam a bit at higher speeds so the celica would deffo have more top end power being a 2.0

you gota remember the ct9 is a tiny turbo that is good for mid range and low down torque which helps alot on acceleration, but once you get into the high gears / revs the ct9 just dies a death and cant provice the power needed to pull threw, it acts as more of a restriction in the end, thats why the n/as will just about squeeze past.

raise the boost and get a fmic and he wnt stand a chance

If your not planning on doing alot of modding and just want a bit of extra power then go for an air filter relocation kit from toytuning as it will free up a few horsies and improve response and then a toytuning actuator and set it to 0.8bar roughly, and then an exhaust and id imagine that would see you to 150-160 and deffo will give you a noticable improvement.

90mph?

You sure this was on a strip?

Race another 1.3 and see how you do. The cars you mention are bigger capacity and have a higher top end.

wel it wernt exactly a strip :) im not allowd to mention street racing i thought, the celica i was racing was on a hill so that will have more torque wont it?

Elementary my dear watson - A fatass Glanza won't usually won't touch 90mph and above in a quarter without a run up.

Locking her down buddy, you got your answer. :)
