steering rack gator question!?

noticed this was split when i changed my box yesterday.

do you need to stick any oil or grease in it when i put a new one on or is it fine dry? looks like something was in it as it looks a bit moist round the split.

Put some greese on/in the joint of the track rod mate, you can use the same stuff that goes in C.V boots, that really horrible black stuff lol.

really? something that thick? usually something like gearbox oil is used in them???

is the actual gator on the steering rack itself. the convoluted one!!!!
