stretching bolts?

i heard from a friend (with a gt) that the bolts that hold the turbo to the manifold are "stretching bolts"?

so when you take the turbo off, you have to use new stretching bolts because of the heat. he changed his turbo without using new bolts and his bolts keep working themselves loose!

is this true? ive never heard it before! :homer:

there arent mate, but the nuts are a special type of manifold nut that should 'self lock'

so they arent like "single use" ones? does everybody just use the same bolts then?

they are all studs as far as i know mate. all you need are the nuts. i bought a full set from toyota when i changed my turbo as my others were a bit shitty and i half rounded off a couple getting them off.

when i put my decat on, after about 1 week i had 1 nut left as they all rounded themselves off.... Just make sure you keep an eye on them

yeah nuts, thats what i meant! im best off ordering some new ones then because i am bound to round them all off!
