stuck at 89999 mile?????

any ideas ppl??? the mileage is stuck at reads 899999 or summat like tht (might of missed a 9 off) but anyways the speedo cable still works cos i can tell how fast im goin plus the trip counter still works. any ideas what could be up wi it???

common fault with ordometers in general if someones tried tampering with it. Not alot you can really do apart from replace the lot with clocks from a breakers.
