Synchro Ring replacement.

Does anyone know if it's a difficult job to replace synchro rings? My 2nd and 4th gears are crunching. I'm just wondering if I should take it to my local mechanic or whether I should take it to a specialist?

i would personally take it to a specialist

I done it my self but its a complete ball ache.
A local mechanic probably wont go near it, so its a specialist job.

My local mechanic did mine and charged 150 euro to supply and fit 2 New ones
