Can anyone shed some light on the tdo4 hybrids,
whats the diffrence in terms of internals and power gains?
and where can i get one from!

Ted had one for sale a while ago, he only took it off after finding a VF29 after a long time searching. PM him about it.

i have tested 3 td04 hybrid from different manufacturer
-td04 H15
-td04 H19
-td04 L19

Be carrefull that a lot of hybrid are sometimes the 'H' version like the Greddy td04 that we can find on Honda turbo kit with different flange.
The 'H' series are laggy and spool later than the 'L' series. The power is better than a td04 ,meanwhile at 1.2bar there was a difference of 35hp on dyno (remember i am with 5e not 4e !) the td04L13 from subaru gives better impression and better torque due to the fact that it came earlier than the H .
The big power is with the H19 but no so powerfull that you can imagine,an ihivf28 is better meanwhile it will produce power gradualy .The good compromise is the TD04 'L' 19 ,you have the quick response and you have the same power of the H19.
In my island we have a lot of mountain and short roads , we have no time to produ power on long distance to kill tdi or biggers car , believe me or not with my td04 L 19 i beat the M3 e46,all the CTR and sometimes equal to the big Sub & Evo in the mountains roads (sorry i do not know the exact words in english , i ma french)
Meanwhile all the hybrid can go until 1.6 or 1.8 bar .
My td04 L 19 is so quick and agressive that 1.4bar is too high for me ,meanwhile i have ran gt28rs at 1.6b and ihivf28 at 1.4b and ihi vf35 at 1.6bar too...if you do not put on the dyno you will feel the td04 L19 , better than the others turbo due to the fact it will spool earlier ...

Great info ramses . When did the tg04 L 19 spool for you? Wondering 4e spool for 0bar and 1.4bar if you have some figures.

just for the people to remember that i have a blitz sbc id and i can graph the boost to verify the difference
my set up is : 5efhe cams+ported & polished had+cruise valve springs+ACIS system

1/ td04 H19

no map on the ebc , only set to 1.25bar on the td04h ,see the difficulty to reach the pressure

2/td04 "L"19 , i have change the settings to map the boost controler to lower boost after the 5k rpm range

in the other case, with the td04 i have 4 block for map : between 0 ->3.5k 1bar , 3.5k to 4.5k 1.5bar ,4.5k to 6k 1.25bar and after 6k only 1 bar....
The car is so agressive for me that i prefer lower the turbo ... as there is a lot of police on the road , i people want to see at 1.25bar without map , i have to reset the ebc and do the test for 1.25 bar again

we recently did a 20g upgrade on an scooby Sti 4 and the turbo was from kinugawa...seems alright so far..only time will tell.

so one could get a 19t wheel and apply it to a td04 if the already had it if the wheel was already balanced?

TD04L-19T so how will this turbo respond on a 4e, note that you using the 5e and that spools the turbo better than the 4e, so what rpm do we exect full boost on a 4e, and with a forge engine with cams and other stuff can we break the 300 bhp mark with it?

in my opinion , if ou want the 300 bhp mark go to GT28 rs or td05-18g but the td04 will still more agressive and will always spool earlier than these turbo ....
i prefer doing 280 bhp with a td04-l19 instead of doing 300bhp with lag on td05 or something else
