TD04 problem

I have just finished my TD04 conversion and the turbo is making a sort of grinding whining noise and it won't boost into positive figures. Has anybody come accross this problem before. I am running a EBC and have checked all connections. Was thinking it could be actuator. Got the turbo from Aiden at EP Styling and has his custom bracket on but looks ok.

Any ideas welcome because i am stumped!!!

Everything else is looking good though!!

Turbo sounds kaput. Take it off and inspect the compressor and the housing.

Just remove the air filter hose and downpipe, check shaft for play. Sounds like its got too much play and shaft is touching the housing.

sounds exactly like my turbo when it died. it was accompanied by loads of smoke!

Thanks guys i thought that might be the case although gave it a good inspection before i fitted it and play seemed minimal.

Will get onto to Aiden if thats the case and see what he can do.
