Although in the past I've only gone up to Mason-Dixon
Dragway in the fall when all the leaves are brown... Knowing
that Joe's (MD4E) car was going to make it's maiden run today,
I had to be on hand and I'm very glad I was.
After my 4th run (R127) the first thing I did after picking up my
time slip and driving back to the pits was to unscrew my
Dr Pepper catch can and pray that it wasn't full of "blow-by"
oil... WHOO-HOO!!!! It wasn't!!!!
So close to a sub-14 second run and NO BLOW-BY OIL IN THE
CATCH CAN! How close to sub 14 seconds...? just take a look
for your self at my best run from today's outting to
Mason-Dixon Dragway:
Here's the 'report card' from the rest of my runs today (forgot
to include that I was running with 3/4 of a tank of gas)
My two quickest 60' times EVER were recorded today... faster,
even, than when TERCEL1 was running in the 13s...
Other folks on hand today when I arrived... :thankyou:
(L-R) Austin, Greg (standing) Greg's dad, Greg's main squeeze
(actually, ONLY squeeze), Tracie and a bunch of strangers...
...and these were our cars...
There were a few other cars on hand makin' lots of noise... Click HERE to see more...
Finally, the latest Tercel hot rod arrived and caused quite a stir...
(L-R) Joe (MD4E), John (94Tercel), Austin, Austin, Austin (1991tercelasdf) and Greg (Mailibuguy)
Having worked non-stop to put together over the past several
days at Deny's (boostjunkie) house, Joe unveiled his 5EFHE
powered Tercel 'MONSTER' to the world...
Only thing left to do now was to see what it could do in the
1/4 mile... I mean, if ya got all that power... RUN IT!!!!!
AT THE TRACK!!!!! (Right?)
Because this was the very first time Joe had ever run on a drag
strip, Denys is seen here giving him some helpful tips...
...and then Joe is left alone with his thoughts and the 1320 feet
of asphalt which lies ahead...
To see Joe's maiden run, click HERE!
Although, not the run you probably wanted, keep in mind Joe,
it takes time to familiarize yourself with all this new power...
Denys demonstrated what your car is capable of and if you
keep at it... pretty soon you'll be giving him a run for his
money!
Good luck GI Joe! Glad to see you havin' fun at the track!
