The 2008 drag racing season, that is, and not a moment too
soon...
Ever since the #4 piston was replaced (burnt up because of
fueling problems), and my fueling situation sorted out, I've
been trying to re-enter the land of the sub 14 second runs...
I've come close to snatching the brass ring on several
occasions but, have fallen short each time... once by
.063 second and most recently by a mere .016 second.
Today, I wasn't as fortunate...
It was cold, it was windy, there appeared to be no traction
each time I launched, perhaps the track hadn't been prepped
well enough...? but, those are all just excuses and to be quite
honest, they don't do a thing to lessen the frustration.
One thing did make me feel a little better though and that was
running into Greg (Malibuguy) in the staging lanes...
...although he WAS wolfing down his BBQ sandwich in less time
than it took me to pilot TERCEL1 down the 1/4 mile!

PS: To be in the driver's seat during Run#142, simply click HERE!
Be advised, you'll probably be able to make a nice sandwich in
less time than it takes me to make the run... (the truck, by the
way, ran an 11.492) Bon Appetite
