Hey guy's I have had a terrible noise coming through the radio the last few weeks and recently i was told it was the alternator suppressor has anyone else had the same problem or solutions to this problem.
Regard's john
Yo dude does it sound like the engine is revving through the speakers?
sort of yes.. its hard to explain it. It sounds as if its not tuned in right and it rises with the revs its very weird i took out the head unit last week as i taught it was the aerial came disconnected but it was not it
Had this and it was to do with wiring its is alternator noise through the power line. One solution is a choke filter on the power line.

that sounds exactly like it derek.... where did you get the choke filter from or know where to get one??
have u relocated the battery to the boot????
that causes interference through the speakers
could be that.
Ebay and amazon sell them man maybe halfords they basically suppress the sound. i didn't use one of those i found it was to do with an earth on my amp got a better earth and the sound was gone. Have you had the radio out recently? may have disturbed something.
I have not dude no..
Sweet ill take a look there now. No haven't had it out until it started and i checked the earth when it was out and nothing was out of place.. I will try that and let you know how i get on
borrow a mates stereo and see if you still get the noise, prob will but try it to make sure its not your stereo.
alternator suppressors generally do the trick, and as suggested, check earth wire and relocate if need be. check earth before buying a suppressor.
always try things that dont cost money first lol.
basically its all trial and error until you find the solution. the engine noise could be caused by a many number of things, but you generally only get it if running amps, dont here of it much these days if running just h/u and non amped speakers.
