whats sort of gear is in class two spuddy? and what is in class 3?

Phil

Don't have the sheet infront of me, class 2 is Type R's and anything capable of 14's passes, class three is cars capable of 15's passes.

Then u got the Pro classes for each class which is anything faster than standard.

Have a look here Pete, its a bit confusing but it doesnt really matter if you read on below. Bring whatever you have, the craic is still good mate.

http://www.sideways-racing.co.uk/index.php?page=event-bookings-2

Most Starlets at these are running sub 15`s, even the slightly modified ones, so they all end up in the pro class anyway.

This might be better for the less modified ones. Not all will break the 14 second barrier, so they are still competitive compared to the more modified ones that run in the 13`s and below as they will move into the Class 2 Pro Class, and the less modified will stay in the main class 2 group.

Its also better as it gives us Hondas with more power than the class 3 ones to stuff lol.

I dont know what you are all crying about anyway, I have to run in Class 1!!

Is anyone signing up the the Drag championship? This Sunday is just practice then the ones following that are worth points.

I'll not be at the on in Feb but definatly at the March one with a little more power all being well but alot of additional drivetrain and various other additions that should aid me in getting a better time. 13's passes atleast I would hope!

depends on the scoring. if you went into class 2 and ran a 13 something then no points i take it?

This is the organisers answer to that Ted.

"Put it another way: You have a very quick car but can't drive it for 5h1t. All day you mess up your starts and miss gears. You do one decent run sub 14 second.
Congratulations, you've just broken into Class 2 Pro

However, this shouldn't be a worry as CHAMPIONSHIP points are awarded to the fastest cars in each class, Pro & Street combined. This is partly to allow for the Irish weather as this so drastically effects the times and in the case of time brackets, it therefore effects the classes.

If you're the fastest car in Class 3, 2, 1 or Pro Elite then you're gonna be rewarded with top points and come end of season, the title of Irish Drag Champion."

I dont think I will enter the Championship, the pro class for class 1 is below 13 seconds, but above 11.5, thats a lot quicker than I can run so there will be a lot of cars in front of me!!

Excellent, will add a nice we bit of extra excitment to the whole thing. I was reading their rules, I like wot they say about Nos :) Will only up the car to Pro class 2 instead of class 1.

"DRAG CLASSES Classes 1 – 3 are for production cars that are, or have been available on general sale to the public, including foreign imported models. Any non-compliant vehicle (such as a racing special) will automatically carry the ‘P’ plate ahead of their race number, (Eg: P123) to signify their Pro class status. Any car that records a ¼ mile time <11.5 sec will from then on carry the ‘P’ plate. The addition of NOS will elevate any car to the 'PRO' section within their class. Cars in the 'STREET' Classes must retain their full interior trim."
