nice read Dylan and very true, when the iphone first came out I avoided it much like everything apple and got a samsung omnia with windows 6.1 I think it was and although I liked it at the time and it did have some kool features like a business card scanner that auto add's all the name, address, number, fax email etc straight to a new contact! It did however slow down to the point it had huge delays when pressing buttons due to multi tasking I suppose, was very buggy and video calling sucked!

I then went and got the 3gs and havnt looked back, does everything I need and more, keeps me entertained when bored in the office, conference etc!

I'm not 100% if I will get the 4G straight away as the IOS4 is available on the Iphone 3g (bar the multitasking) 3GS and 4G and Ipod touches!

Nope lol that's just an old wifes tail I can A- Restore it to a regular unjailkbroken phone and lose all my apps or wait a few days untill some little genius jailbreaks 4.0 and then I simply download and apply the jailbroken 4.0 = win!

I deffo recomend it as theres not only all the regular apps but also a lot of home grown or apps that the app store hasnt got etc + it allows a lot of customisation

It depends if you want to jailbreak now or hold out for the Ios4 and get that JB'd? as that's out end of this month!

That only happens if you've a teathered jailbreak meaning you'll have to jailbreak the phone everytime you turn off or the battery goes flat, if it's unteathered it's totally fine (mines un teathered) and been running jail break for ages now with no issues bar the standard ones the iphone has lol.

You however don't lose your apps/contacts if you've the teathered version it just means you have to run the jailbreak again and all will be good as it'll go in to recovery mode.

My phones only crashed once and that wasnt down to it being jailbroken as my gf's dad's Iphone has done the same and his isnt jailbroken!

As said ^^ matey helped me to do mine, had it for a few months now, and its fine! so much better jailbroken imo, only problem is, that when it turns off, you need to use a program to start it up again, is worth it though

as above Sanchez has a tethered version (there is now a version that you can install on yours that makes it untethered but if its running fine I wouldnt mess with it lol)

Sweet well when the IOS 4 comes out for it, it may be worth getting an untethered jailbreak for that to save you the hassle and IOS4 also looks awesome !

As soon as the 4G comes out the price of the 3GS will plummet. Also, you will have to take out a new contract for the 4G which is likely to be crap and stupidly expensive.

That's true, obviously if the contract sucks then I won't do it but o2 will still take the Iphone 3gs off me for 240! (I emailed and asked lol)

That is very true, although 2013 doesn't bother me tbh should be al right! done the same thing when I had the omnia except I never had to pay them anything!

Seem's the contract for the 4G will cost the same as the 3gs £40 for 900 mins unlimited txts and 750mb data ( no longer unlimited )

I just need to know how much they'll want for the phone its self lol..
