ticking noise?

hi all iv just changed my head gasket and put everything back together. car started up fine but there is a ticking noise, it sounds like it is cumin from around inlet manifold.

any ideas what it could be.

idle control valve it plugs into the inlet mani, mine does it, they all do it specialy if there dirty inside lol

Mine does it too, I was under the impression most of them do.

surely if it didnt make that noise before then it wont be the injectors? u sure its comming from the inlet manifold area? did u put the service bolt in the inlet cam gear when u took the cams out?

It probably made the noise all along, but you only noticed it after you did the work. Simply cos your ears are looking for a problem lol
