Hi! Anyone have any idea where to find 4eft4's transaxle bearing? According to my mechanic, the bearing in transaxle is faulty and having a laud sound . The problem is, in my area (Sarawak, Malaysia) its very hard to find parts for Starlet GT. (Starlet is Rare in Sarawak) .

Below is the info given by my mechanic :-
Koyo (83C331)
E-Ep91-AGMQY-D : I belive this is EP91's body type, Im driving a EP82
Trans/axle - 056-02B
Engine - 4e-fte

Thanks
Alex Teo

im assuming he means the differential bearings? they are often noisy. could also be the input shaft bearing.

all these bearings are nothing special. any bearing shop can supply replacements. you need to strip the gearbox down, remove the trouble bearing and replace it.

need to know what the bearing is before going any further. they normally have bearing sizes on them. you will probably find its a koyo bearing, which are made in japan. its not too far from yourself so would have thought you could pick up the bearings just as easily as i can in the uk.

your mechanic isnt even trying. just remove the bearings and take them to this place: 172, Jalan Padungan, Kuching, Sarawak, 93100, Malaysia +60 82-252 099 ‎

from a google search it is a bearing shop of some description. take the bearings there and they should be able to help you

90363-54001 is the Toyota part number for that bearing. It's the same part number for both EP82 and EP91 with LSD.
