Turbo rebuild advice needed....

i know theres been a lot of threads about this sorry guys and gals...
Since ive had my GT its been smokey on idle and even more so after a heavy footed drive, but took it out today for a spin and when i got back left it to warm down and the exhaust was pouring out with smoke (greyish, Lots and Lots of smoke) little hard to tell the exact colour tbh.....
it doesnt smoke when driving only on idle after maybe 30 seconds, HG has been checked not that.....

sounds to me like turbo seals, symtoms of anything else??
also need a bit of info on who to rebuild the tubby nr manchester or how hard it is and cost of DIY? thanks in advance

i would only rebuild it yourself if your mechanically skilled or have good experienced doing things like that. you need a decent set of tools. its not a particularly hard job, but its hard if you dont know what your doing.

after the rebuild it will need balancing to be safe. a place like turbo technics would be your best bet. if you dotn feel confident rebuilding the turbo yourself then send them to turbo to do the whole job.

but if it was the pcv valve wouldnt it smoke all the time, regardless whether it on idle or driving?
