Maybe its your driving style dude. Every month or so you have a thread about broken gearboxes and clutches.

:haha:

Did it work before you took the box out? If it did, just stick the cunt back on!

Okay heres the story for those genuinly interested.

Approximately a month ago I upped my Glanza from 155hp to approx 220 odd. For the time being, I thought I'd use the standard gearbox without LSD or a rebuild. Because I'd be using the car throughout winter as a daily, so with the shit weather wouldn't really thrash it much. At this time I fitted a brand new Exedy Paddle.

As soon as we had the new engine turbo clutch etc fitted and started the car up, I could hear a rattle noise which I thought would be the release bearing. This was brand new supplied with the clutch. As I had just spent such a big load of money, I didn't wanna pay labour to fit a new release bearing and haven't even had the time myself to do it. I took it very easy on the first week of fitting the clutch and then got it mapped. Once mapped, obviously the car got a bit of abuse when the roads were not wet. This does not include any launches, not once did I launch hard with the clutch! Approx a week after mapping I just drove the car slowly with the very very occasional use of 'Hi boost'. Last weekend I was coming home, cruising slowly. Car was in second gear and I just came off a give way, and it popped out of second gear and that was my second gear gone.

I was wondering how and why this happened but was clueless up until today. We were out to fit my newly built gearbox with LSD etc and I thought I'd put a newly skimmed flywheel on at the same time cos I didn't last time. Took the clutch off and found that the centre bit where the spling goes, was loose. And a good bit too, if you shook it you could hear it rattling. So I'm assuming this also caused my gearbox to be in such a state too, it had only done 63k and didn't have any crunches or funny noises prior to this.

In the end I bought a 6 PUK from Nick and it seems well a
