Volcano... how long will it last?

Wow sorry to hear about people on here who have family stuck abroad or who will maybe miss flights themselves, especially lads offshore - I bet you just want to get home.

I was looking at the coverage this is getting on the news and the attitude of people was really unusual. You know how people always want to blame someone and look for solutions to problems etc... well given the nature of this there is no one to blame and no solution, just time.

It has been weird watching everyone being so helpless and made me think about if there was some apocalyptic event caused by nature how very little we could actually do about it. Things would get nasty very quickly and pretty violent I would imagine.

this will bring mayhem to northen europe, a fight for survival.

Sounds exciting!

My mate is stuck over in Colorado, and i've got a mate in Australia due to fly back in a couple of days. The Colorado guy is actually gutted he can't get home! crazy.

a graph that shows where the volcano hit ,aircraft simply cannot fly when there is volcanic ash in the air as it will very quickly damage and even destroy jet engines

Its messing with my work you think i would be told not to come in today had to get up at 5 to be in for 6 and got told to go home at 7 same again tomorrow. We are supposed to be back flying monday don't think so tbh. Also most airlines have engine covers to protect them when there not being used and also now with the worry of the ash floating about, i wont even tell you what we have used to protect our engines.lol

My Ma & Pa's flights got cancelled from Venice, and they're pretty cool about it (they're retired so don't have anything to get back for). They were going to go to the Italian Riviera for a few days, but I told them to head for Milan instead so they could get a train to Paris, and then the Eurostar back if it the ban continues for a while. That's if they can get on the Eurostar... Understandably, it's a bit full at the moment!

I wish I was bloody stuck somewhere... Well, somewhere nice at least...

Cheap car cover from halfords or argos would be a good idea. Mine'll be in the garage if it ever sets in Sussex

I bet it'd only damage paint if you go through it a several hundred miles per hour!

My mums stuck in Spain! Was supposed to be back late thursday night lol. At her end they are saying it will be the 27th at least, the ports are being bombarded where people are turning to try to get a ferry. It sounds pretty hectic! Not good when you hav'nt budgeted for an extra 10+ days!
