Hey Guys & Gals,
Just found out my water pump leaking, so it's getting changed. How easy are they do on an EP82? I haven't got air-con either. They look pretty simple, just thought id ask the experts. And also should i get it done in a morning?

Thanks!

The hardest thing is getting access to it.

Best to remove the intake manifold and get it from the top in my opinion.

i had to do one of these, it was quite long actually

the main problem was getting the housing off as the bolts were covered by pulleys and other shiney bits! i took the alternator out and went from the back!

haha too long. but alot of mucking about, and bolts just did not want to come off, so had to remove some bits and bobs, think i had 2 remove the housing to get to it in the end, rather than just undoin the pump.

Its painful...

Remove the ancilliaries that run over the top of the pump (vacumn lines etc)
Push them out of the way.

Put the car on axle stands, then support the engine from below with a jack

Remove the belts, crank pulley, then the timing belt covers.

Undo the engine mount, unbolt it from the bracket that holds it to the engine, remove said bracket as well.

Remove the pump pulley wheel.

Remove the pump.

Fit new pump (use new bolts, the old ones will probably have given up the ghost anyways)

Put everything back that you took off.

All of the removal is to get at the ONE bolt that you cant get at behind the engine mount bracket. :shoot:
