weird boost problem ! help

hi ive just removed my air con this weekend and changd the steerin belt to the shorter one and took the car out just and thought the belt might have been abit tight, felt abit of vibrating throughout the car when im stationary, so i compared it to the one on my step dads car nd his was a touch looser so i loosened it a touch, then took it out and put my foot down and my boost went up! ive been runnin like 10 psi until i get my fpr on and setup on the rollers but the car was hittin 13 14 psi ! why has this hapend all i did is loosen the steering belt a touch, didnt even touch the actuator

Did the vibrating stop after you loosened the belt???? Well removing the aircon would put less drag on the engine (thats why we remove it) Allows the crank to spin more freely obviously not a great deal but a bit there for by the crank moving more freer your turbo will boost quicker you should notice a slight difference but not much.. Not as much as you are unless the pully on the aircon was very stiff...

vibrating did stop ye it wasnt overly bad but i noticed compared to before, ive just took it out and my boost gauge is reading like 11psi in higher gears 3rd to 5th and in lower gears will hit 13- 14psi im propa confused now ? ? ye before i removed it when air con was on the steering was stiffer, and change the belt and feels like its actually got power steering but when i took it out after i fitted the belt the boost was the same 10 psi wudnt go over that. But i loosend it a fraction and now boost has gone up.

could it have been to tight before slowin down the crank or sumet now its loose its more free?
why is my boost readin different in difrent gears tho ??

another thing ive noticed with the car is when u boot it in 1st the revs shoot up but the car feels like its spinnin its slow to hit the speed, like its still in neutral when u pull of then the car will kick in , was maybe thinkin clutch is slippin or sumet? but dont know now because of this problem could be same thing linked

Well no the belt being to tight wouldnt put much affect on in the crank would snap if it was tight enough to try stop the crank..An other thing because you had the aircon connected would have more drag on your vaccum and removing it would up ur vaccum but again i dont think it would to the stage it is

ye but it was hittin 10 psi in all gears before then just loosend the belt a fraction now its all over the place, ill get it looked at this week but i wana know whats going on with the boost pressure so i can have my fuelling setup when i put the fpr on it ent guna work proply otherwise,

did you undo the 10mm earth on top of the r/h engine mount ?

try checking all the hoses in this pic if you cant think of anything else to check ..

na mate didnt undo that earth. my vac hose on my actuator loops from actuator to turbo, hi/lo bypassd etc.

I havent touched any of them in the pic at all ive looked at the hose from the dump valve thats the same and the actuator hose thats the same its weird only thing i done was loosen the steering belt a tad so it was perfect

strange. hopefully someones had the same problem, have you looped all the a/c electric connectors that you removed etc.

no the switches r still there dno wot u mean by looped the connectors, the only thing your ment to do is bridging the pressure switch so the fan doesnt run constantly but that doesnt apply to glanzas only gts need that doin, thats got nufin to do wif the boost tho, its like its turned itself up just by loosening the power steerin belt a tad

HEEELP lol!! im just guna hav to take it to somewhere that has wideband kit that can setup the fuelling to my boost asap
Anyone know anyone that can do it within the west midlands area ?? im in Birmingham

one more question buddy .

is this stable boost? or does it spike up to 13-14psi then settle back down on your preset 10psi .. ?
