Just after some advise and comments on this situation.
I have recently brought a exhaust system off a member on here. It was sold to me as in good condition and no problems. I had a friend go and pick the system up for me in his van, got the exhaust and checked it, and found the baffle in the back box to be broken up and loose.
contacted the seller asking for a refund and he can have it back, and his reply was along the lines of, "it must have been damaged during delivery and it was ok when i had it"
Now, im pretty sure this kind of damage isnt done in transit???
He went on to say "im an honest guy, people can vouch for me and your trying to pull a fast one"
All im asking for is a refund, so how can i be pulling a fast 1?
Would appreciate any comment and advise guys n girls..........

it was all packed up when your friend arrived?! i don't know the details but thats not good, a bit like having a car warmed up before a buyer arrives!

yeah, i asked him to wrap it coz originally a proper delivery company was going to collect it for me but it was to large, so got some1 i knew to get it. the guy sounded genuine and had no reason to doubt him.
I did wonder why the seller didnt want to send it himself when he was offering delivery on other items he was selling??

its a cunt of a situation, he could...but won't by the looks of it! if he sold you a dodgy system then its mission accomplished and he conned someone into taking it, if he's genuine and the system was perfect when it left his possession and it was damaged in transit then its your fault and he's not gonna take it back. so i think your stuck either way!

the baffles are welded in, when they get loose thats usually down to old age. they are only held in by a few tak welds usually. if its loose from the tailpipe side you can easily get a welder in there and tak it back in place.

I've dealt with jay many a times and can say his a great genuine guy so I know he ain't trying to pull a fast one.

Can't see how this could get damaged in transit especially when it's wrapped up.

Hope you get something sorted mate

i hear what ur saying guys, he sounded genuine when i was talking to him and think he just didnt realise it was faulty. However, instead of getting defensive and accusing me of being a scammer, he should offer some sort of refund.

Cheers dan for the advise, will give it a zap with a welder tomorrow.
