What can i soak my cylinder head in over night to clean it?? and is it safe...

Hi i just wondered what people use to soak ther cylinder head in? to clean it.
I have it completly striped and would like it to soak it to get all the carbon build up etc off, also can i clean my cam's in the same solution.

hmmm....

I wont refer to any specific product for that job or anything of that sort but give an easy solution.

Dish washer tablets when diluted in water can work wonders and get almost any kind of grime off anything. Most likely its gonna work on the head too.

Make a nice mix with some degreaser in it too.

Too stupid? I clean the under floor of my yaris this way and all of the grime comes off with ease! Even real dirty wheels with tons of brake dust that
havent been washed for months. Dont recomend it on nice wheels tho! lol

Fill up a bowl with vinegar mate. Leave it soaked over night, go back to it in the morning and scrub the rest off, will come off easy.

Vinnegar x2 I've seen it in action on the Discovery channel parts come out looking like new........

well vinegar is acidic so for 27p get a couple of jars and i can see it working quite well, for my cylinder head i used degresser, and then i found out my pressure washer was broke so i used just hose pipe with thumb over the end.

came up clean enough then used paint stripper heater to dry it all out! :)
