What to get?

After driving this beast, I've decided i want to get a bmw 3series around 2000 - 2002 and was wondering whats the ups/downs?

what you lookin at getting just the 1.8 or bigger nice cars look nice but gotta get a good engine size to go well !!!

Pro's - Well engineered.

Con's - Boring/obvious/join the club/see yourself coming in the other direction all the time. They're for badge conscious people who like people to look at them. They're for people who like to show that they've got money (or car debts). They're for people with little imagination.

lol i just like it for the comfort and ease of driving when working stupid silly early mornings, etc, + i do alot of corporote jobs and get some looks/loss of respect that makes my job harder when hopping out an mx5 with red wheels and a hks exhaust lol.

I'm not going to get in to any debt getting one though, only looking to spend 3 - 4k max!

totally up to you at the end of day and understand the mx5 thing with the red wheels unless you got a brand new car gleaming alot of people look at people like shit in business land thou just the way it is init they dont know real power when they see it haha !! i do think they are for people who like to be seen with a badge like said above but i did look at a bmw 330ci before getting the starlet so cant say much really haha !! just get a big engine so those good looks and comfort go down the road ok to lol

we've also got a BMW 530d M Sport 2005, have to say its quite a beast, amount of power is ridiculous for a diesel, best thing to do is get the 535d/335d, get a remap on it from 270bhp to 340 :drive::rockon:

Sounds nice, I'm quiet surprised the amount of power the diesel has feels a bit laggy though!

it isnt laggy at all, but if your lookin for proper torque, than remap on a 335d is the way to go

Indeed, the only weird thing about the one im driving at the min is that its Eco-friendly so when you put it in neutral at the lights, the engine turns off and starts when the clutch is pressed ! weird at first.

my mate's dad's got a 535d and they go extremely well! I was quite surprised, very nice car inside aswell. I would love a 335d or petrol, u get style, comfort and performance! Of course you get a hefty price tag aswell lol
