Also guys is a great idea to get a few local track days done before you go to the ring. I'm not doubting your driving ability but the ring is very manic, there are a lot of cars going round very fast and you really need to have your wits about you. It's like no other track.

The other people are more of a danger than you are to yourself so I really advise in getting some practice in first otherwise it can be very daunting. The last thing you want to do is wipe out a GT3 going 140mph past you it's easily done. One second it's there, the next it's not.

Don't take offence just trying to be helpful I'm sure you are all good enough drivers :)

Couldn't agree more Toby, been looking at that Toyota Sprint Series that was advertised on here - Wonder if it will be running next year, would be helpful I think!

Buy Forza 2 on the 360 or GT5 when it comes out, made within one inch of the real thing. Great for learning the lines and the track in general, okay it won't replicate the other drivers and "all" of the bumps (there are a lot it's an old track) but it will give you a much better idea, I know that track inside and out I could draw the corners. Even so I am still bloody careful and never never go all out. If I lived there then maybe but it's a long way to get back without a car.

Couple this with a few real track days and you will be in a much better state to start with. Don't forget in real life you have to go around the grand prix circuit at the start then you go onto the track. They also stop you half way down the straight.

This was because people, mostly bikers, were going around the last lefty at over 200mph into the final pit chicane, getting the wobblies, easily done, falling off and hitting a right angled barrier at over 180mhp and dying so now they have stopped this by cutting the straight in half. You can still get up to top speed easily as the straight is huge even with the cut off!!

Can I also point out insurance is a must. If you crash and ruin the barrier you have to pay for any damage. At £1000.00 a square meter you will soon be bankrupt. Couple this with the towing costs, the possibility of being air lifted to hospital (yes it does happen) and you could soon be in some serious financial difficulty. If you can't pay they will come after what you own.

God I'm making it sound terrible, it's not, but a few careful words now will prevent any issues. Overall it's amazing. Also go at the start of the season, summer is hectic and with one petrol station you can soon find you spend a whole day in a que!

he he least I can do :)

Most companies are like that you need special insurance, most will never have a problem but a little risky just in case. Mikey does it actually say no Nurburg on your policy? :p

The coolest thing about it is that you can buy ring stickers from the petrol station to say i've done that, just a sticker of the outlay. Only problem now is max power and the like give them away so apparantly "everyone" has been :p

i beleive you can get away with insurance as its effectivly a toll roll :) (track insurance would be ideal tho) my mate wrapped a e30 beemer last year on the mini carosale (oil slick)on track took out about 20 metres of armco barrier cost was huge!!!

ive spent so long playing the xbox on nurburg i practicly know the track lol. its defo not a track for novice track users me personally will be doing a few more track days as i dont have enough experience. track driving is so unbelievably different to on the road.
