I have a gearbox which has just had an lsd fitted into it and need to no what gear oil to put into it and where to buy it from locally if possible as i am wanting to fit it in asap.also i dont know the make of the lsd does it matter what make it is do they each use slightly different oil?thanks

A helical diff will work quite happily on the standard 75w90 transmission oil, a mechanical/clutch diff requires an oil with a friction additive. If your unsure which type of LSD you have then play it safe and use the latter. Something like this should do the job:

The gear box builder that has just built my box recommended using ATF as its much better for a nice clean shift and the syncros work a lot cleaner I knew the starlet boxes work fine with it as its one of the oils toyota recommend I have always used it in my N/A boxes, So I thought I would look into it more before I put it in with my new 700 quid Quaife!! Quaife say it is fine to use with there diffs as is just about any oil!! so I used ATF and what a Difference it made!! the box is so smooth hot or cold its lovely!!
Always check what the diff manufacturer recommends first tho as it may invalidate the warranty if its new thats why I checked first!!
