i have searched and sounds a bit similar to parkiboys thread below but i didnt want to jump in and take it over. my mates glanza has just started smoking on idle and chucks out a bit more when your blipping the throttle, it doesnt appear to be using any oil and hasnt lost any performance, it's going tonight to be pressure tested, but am i right thinking that will probably come back fine? what can you guys suggest? thanks

probably turbo oil seals. but im no expert. wait for the result of the comp test and lets see from there :p

An engine exhausting 'white smoke' is usually caused by water entering the combustion process some where along the line.

Have you checked the coolant level? Has it dropped? Does the engine overheat?

Could be a number of things such as a leaking head gasket, cracked cylinder head or even possibly the turbo leaking water.

Are you sure its not just condensation and not smoke? Is it definetly white and not grey/blue?

theres no white in with the oil so it wouldnt be headgasket? as far as i know the coolant is fine and no it doesnt overheat. btw, his mods are 1 bar boost, hks actuator, fmic, greddy bov, filter off turbo, fse fpr, hks fcd.

I experience the same white smoke today its like condensation but i would say its not condensation because too much smoke and fortunately it stop by itself after few km very amazing,am not expert but I guess its the piston rings its stick and thus allowing compression to enter into the sump then came to normal sometimes it remain stick then you much change piston and ring.please correct me if am wrong.

Thick white smoke on tick over and if it normaly clears when driving is normaly turbo seals leaking into the exhaust side. It's white because it hasn't been combusted.

thx, brother but how can we confirm that. If turbo seal damage there will be oil in the intercooler. Am I right? I check the pipe no oil completely dry. I think may be the valve.

No it's leaking on the otherside. You need to take the down pipe off but even than it maybe dry because the it burns off quickly. Just check your comprssion and that your pcv isn't blocked than it will almosr certainly be the turbo.

as well

mine is doing the exact same if i sit for a few min and then drive away it smokes but clears within a min if it is the seals that are leaking can i be doing more damage to the turbo by still driving it should i get it fixed right away to avoid a big bill for a turbo cheers

my mate had his pressure tested and it was fine so he's getting the turbo looked at tomorrow. if this is the case does he just need a recon kit for it?

might think im made hear but ive seen this in old golfs . check ur brake fluid is not leaking in to the brake servo and geting sucked in to the inlet manifold. just keep a eye on the level even worth a look tho

what does the pcv valve do? and how will it make the engine blow white smoke? would it couse a misfire if the valve is blocked/broken??

what kind of pressure should u be looking at on a compression test?
