Who has done an auto to manual conversion?

My autobox is dying a slow death and i'm thinking, instead of replacing the old box i might as well convert it to a manual. So i have a few questions. How many of you have done this, is it difficult, how much will the parts cost, how long did it take and is there anything i should look out for when doing the conversion?

These are the parts that i think i'll need
Gearbox
Clutch (pressure plate and clutch disc)
Flywheel
Flywheel bolts
Clutch Master Cylinder
Clutch Slave Cylinder
Clutch Lines (both metal line and rubber line)
Clutch Pedal Assembly
Brake Pedal Assembly
Shifter Assembly
Shifter cables
TPS?
ECU?

Thanks for any input,

Tom

All those things bar the ECU and TPS mate. Chris had fun with a Glanza running an auto ECU before so don't count it out entirely. You would be looking a three plug Glanza ECU if you were replacing your current one.

If you get a factory LSD box you would need the rear mount and shafts to go with it too.

Buy the clutch new (and a slave cylinder for all the price of them) but otherwise just gather up the rest from breakers. Should be cheap enough.

Thanks for the reply Jay

I figured out what may have caused the untimely demise of my autobox. The last time i had the rad out some atf leaked out, so i topped it up when everything was back together and warmed up, i filled right up to the top of the "hot" mark on the dip stick. However i didnt account for the expansion of the cold oil, so i think the death of the box could be down to an overly high fluid level.
