whos naughty??? whos tows with out a licence, lorry licence, piss take

im pissed off with seeing all this law changing shit god this countrys finished with, they should start doing what the british people want

wanted to by a 7.5ton lorry for work but no i cant drive one as the laws changed from any one who passed there test after the year 1998 can not drive one not being funny but any one who can drive a car can drive one there not even that big to me all it is is to make more money from the dvla that will go to the goverment to spend on stupid things!

so what do i have to do now taking my full HGV but the point is i could of done with a 7.5ton since the day i passed my test 4 years ago

and now i want to move some of my cars and i cant even tow a trailer with out having trailer licence now its getting beyond the joke how can i fight ????? or vote ?????

not only that this will make you laugh they have lowered the driving age to 18 for full size lorrys but they bang on about boy racers in cars let alone a 44 ton lorry

so whos got what and who tows a trailer around and who gets stopped???

i cant see why you would be pulled over to see if you have a trailer licence unless your doing somthing rong like a transit van on a B&Q single axle trailer lol

Yep it is shitty how they changed the licence's on driving but in some way's it is good, some people bearly have enought confidence to pass there test let alone pull a trailor or drive a 7.5ton...

but for those who do lol i want to start up my buisness soon but this HGV is costing me a 1000 cant say i havent driver a few 7.5s most out them are normal to drive with 5/6 gears just like a car or van just pisses me off how they talk about safty and yet lower the age to 18 for full HGV but youve got to passed a test for a 7.5 ton basically one year after passing your car test, so when you think about it was it worth stoping the 7.5tonnes for people who passed before 1998, or is it just at the time they wanted extra money because theres never been any more history back then in bad driving then there has been cars

i wouldent trust a 18 year old driving my truck!!!

21 was low enough

It is shit about those laws, but i can see why a test or at least lessons would be handy. Twat across the road from me spends a good 20 minutes each night trying to reverse into his drive, proper fucking useless, seen the trailor half way through his neighbours bushes aswell :homer: god help him if he ever hits my car!

thats what im saying just a quick test maybe, but aint hardest thing if you know what your doing if you dont dont bova lol what ever way you steer trailer goes oppsite

aint free though lol still got to do all the training lol and its been paided for now!!!! lol

NOW YOU TELL ME

any one watch eddie stobart programmes :) lol

If ya think thats daft!!! I have a full bus license I have had it from been 18 I am now 30. I can drive and do drive all kinds of busses I drive bendy busses, double decker busses and I can carry as many people as I can get on the bus. I dont carry passengers as I only need my license for road testing after repairs but I have a FULL PSV license but I still carnt drive a 7.5t transit!! I can tow a trailer with a bus and I can tow a BUS with a BUS!! so thats longer than any HGV allowed on our roads!! well over 100ft!!! But I can tow a car trailer so thats ok!!

it has been known to tow a trailer, whether it being a car on the back, motorbike or just general crap. i dont have the license, which ill probably get slated for now, but i think if your careful about what you tow and how you drive it youll not get pulled realy

i used to drive my dads car with my race car on the back when i was 14, ok so it was only around the grounds of the race track but even at that age i didnt have any problems with it. used to park it where ever it was needed

I think the law is right on this one. It's certainly not evidence of the downfall of Britain! The roads are busier than they ever have been, people see driving as a right instead of a privelidge and as such have a very poor attitude towards anything stopping them driving anything they want and drving in general. Fact is, the vast majority will never tow or drive anything so big as 7.5 tonnes, the 3.5 tonnes people are allowed is more than double a lot of peoples cars. Most car licence holders would need to drive those so rarely that they'd never be properly used to them, making them a much bigger risk to other road users. You are not representative of the British driving public, noone on this forum is, we have fun driving and are actively interesed in all aspects of motoring. I wouldn't want my Mum driving a 7.5 tonne truck for sure! The laws have to cover the people with the least ability.

but again you wouldent and shouldent be driving any think if yoy can no drive or do not feel you could handle a 7.5 its nots always about size its about the weight that it can take back in 1998 any one could tow a trailer up to 750kgs and the trailer has to be part of that weight now there was no law on how big things can be so you could tow a 35foot flat bed trailer on its own weighing 750 kgs if you ask me the laws rong and have not sat down and thought this through as im sure any one will back me up on this

whats more dangerous a normal licence holder towing

a 750kg trailer 35 FOOT LONG

or

a 10 foot long trailer with a car on the back save for example a starlet so just over a ton in total of weight

also there are many boys out there downgrading 7.5 tons too 3.5 tons so they can drive them with just normal licence so not always about SIZE thats what im trying to explain its pretty unfair maybe a smaller test for the 7.5s its not like there 44tons with 18 gears that im learning in lol

Your not thinking of the idiots though dan, some muppets can barely drive a 1.0l micra without crashing it three times a year. Let them drive a 7.5ton, and there killing people

yeah but trusting a 18 year old in a 44ton hes gonna drive by the book when he passes his test but when he aint being watch its just the same!!!!!

Depends what you're towing it with!

I think I could drive a 7.5 tonne vehicle, however the law MUST cater for the least able, not the most, and you must prove that you can handle it. You said yourself, it's not just the size but the weight.

I think you're only against it as it's costing you money, but it's not a money making scheme as the vast majorityof your cash will stay with the guys training you. If it's a business your doing it for then it's a start up cost, you'll have to deal with it.

belive it or not i got discount should have been 1200, but out of that grand 60 percent goes to the goverment and the reason i know that i have the owner of the trainning company trainning me!!! lol reason im against it is he agrees with me really if you can drive a van mate you can drive a 7.5 for sure mate, i do agree with what you are saying to i know its the fools that cant drive but aint that the whole point of insurance aswel, like pas plus they lower it if you have pass plus when taken your test but why not let any one drive up to a 7.5tonne but over a certen age so they can be trusted more ive seen kids drifting around down here and pissing about in 44ton lorrys

Hey, why not do away with the driving test altogether for people over a certain age? When a person reaches 21 years old they could be given a driving license automatically, even though they may not have any experience driving a car. It's not just about trust, it's about experience. Where is the logic in someone learning to drive in a Nissan Micra and then automatically given a license to drive a lorry when they pass their test?

The rules were obviously changed for a reason. Maybe someone compared a Ford Fiesta to a Mercedes Atego 818 and thought 'hang on a minute, that's a bit bigger'.

bi know its the fools that cant drive but aint that the whole point of insurance aswel

Insurance isn't going to help much when someone drives over a pedestrians face.

Reason they lowered the age to 18 for hgv is because they haven't got enough drivers, 18 year olds like myself that wanna drive trucks end up giving up on the idea of becoming a driver because they go off and find another job. I shall be taking mine in the next month or so just doing my theory :)

im almost ready to book my test, dont get me rong im proud of what im doing and that in a way yeah is ok but if you look into all licences its like a bike you can at the age of 17 take your full test but be resticked but after 2 years of riding even though you may not touch a bike till them 2 years you can now ride full power, car licence doesent work like that like after 2 years of passing your aloud to drive a 7.5 tonner but you would only drive one at your own risk if you no you cudent then youd be an twat to try lol
