is there a big difference when u do a 5efe conversion???
THE Y RECKON HAVE 1500 CC INSTEAD OF 1300 WITH THE 4E
is there a big difference when u do a 5efe conversion???
- 5e rods…5efhe preferred for bigger boost,,,,,,,,5efe rods can be used if u don’t plan to over do it
the stock 5efe has been known to take 10psi-12psi of boost when well tuned....and should be reliable for 8psi-10psi...........by the way, this is with a decent sized turbo set up
the rods are not as strong as the 5efhe rods....so a lot of people dont push it with this particular engine
no way would i trust a flywheel thats had that done
id just stick with the 5e one
went i rehole my 4EFTE becaz i wanted to use back my clutch and it hard to find standard flywheel in barbados and lightweight flywheel for 5E cost an arm and leg in barbados. but i c any problem reholing it, i have using my fa last 2 year now.
ppl say 5EFHE rods r stronger but i using 5EFE rods running 15psi every day use and i have tune my car to as high as 20psi with water injection.
well guess it works for u...but might not work for everyone....lol
yeah,,,we do it over here all the time (caribbean)....but some of the other guys around the world dont like the idea of redrilling or even lightening the stock 4efte flywheel
so to each their own.....cant fault anyone which ever way they choose
when i was putting up my 5E project i only know of 2 other in Barbados and tryin to locate parts fa them was very hard. so i make do with what i had. now u can get lighten flywheel for 5E fa about 1000bds. beside how long i have know u gorganl2000? i started project 3 month before i know u. when u still had starlet.lol
wow...that is a LONG time ago....man we getting old....lol
yeah...from my investigations...it seem like some later version 5efe (i think the one with the equal length intake manifold)...did come with 5efhe rods.....but i will clarify that once i get the time
no....not enough "meat" on the cylinder walls to do that
some have over bored by 1mm...which is about 1365cc at best (give or take a little)
even a 5e bored by 1mm ends up being only 1538cc---up from 1497cc
