wire used in digital temp gauge?

heya people bit of a strange one here, right i just bought a cheap act guage off the bay and need to extend the wire that has the thermometer thing on the end.

so my question is do i need a certain type of wire of will some normal power cable do?

normal single/multi core will do fine - just get something of similar thickness to whats curreently used.

so it is just normal wire then no fancy wired needed lol
