Right wont be driven the car for three months had an accident in work and shattered my anlke bone. So while im out of work i will be start modding the car it already has front mount air intake redirected to front of car Cat back. The aim was to get 210-220 BHP out of her but dont know what set up to go. . . Have a TD04 turbo there a mate gave me so was thinking going down that route but then was looking at the Hybrid and seen some figures from these so INFO please

Useful info here. Hybrids can make 200+ but the td04 is the tried and tested, most cost efficient way to get there. The advantage of the ct9 hybrid is the monstrous low rpm response you can get with a proper setup (some members, myself included, have seen spoolup from 1100-1200rpm, full boost by 2000-2200rpm).

the hybrid route would be alot easier and ya could get 220 from that with decent management and then the usual mods.

if ya got a tdo4 your still gonna need a mani and downpipe and injectors and iv probably missed some stuff

hope that helps some.

owell i was to slow :p

Im personally going for a tdo4 myself so would recomend that. However a ct9 hybrid with good engine management and supporting mods can reach ur 210bhp mark and wouldnt be as laggy ar a tdo4. Both good setups used by lots of members on here. like i said, pesonally id go gor a tdo4.:drive:.. ul easilly see 210bhp and if u ever fancy some more jst up the booost lol :p

EDIT: i was even slower lol

Even with a hybrid, if you are aiming for 200+bhp you will still need to change to an after market manifold regardless. The restrictive stock manifold simply will not be suitable. The hybrid when you consider the purchase price is not the cheaper option. You can get a TD04 for peanuts on ebay, and if you include the cost of a manifold, water and oil lines, it still works out cheaper than a hybrid + manifold combination.

I have a TD04 there already a mate gave me it but i dont know what condition its in. Then was managment is best for this set up what else is needed Manifold down pipe water lines oil lines. What the best Manifold ?

a few traders on here do full tdo4 kits at very reasonble prices... so if ur car is practically stock at the moment it would be the cheaper option. However hybrids can have insane spoolin times and can get nice power really low in the revs. it all depends on wat u want from the setup.

Some sort of piggyback ecu mate like an emanage or something would be fine, as for the manifold traders on here are probs ur best bet :)

Have a read of the first link I posted...you will see there is alot more to a 200+hp starlet than the engine mods...
The answers to your questions will differ depending on who you are asking since there are quite a few options/routes to getting similar power gains safely.

Water/oil lines, oil return pipe, manifold, down pipe, fueling components/engine management, basically these are what you will need, but as I said, there is much more involved.

Agreed. There is no point in increasing the engine bhp and forgeting the rest. save ur cash and do it properly:teach: u will be glad in the long run :)

i just meant that he could use the manifold he was using currently whereas with the td04 it would NEED to be changed.

agreed with the later comments tho that it should be done properly if done at all.

It depends what you want from the car really, lots of people have TD04'd EP's and like them, I have had one as well but prefer my hybrid even though I have every possible mod in place to put a big turbo and run 300+bhp I still like the response and drivability of the hybrid and thats why I'm keeping it!

as turbodave said it depends on what u what from the car, ive had both and would go td04 all they way

Well i think i might need to get a spin in both set ups and go from there. I know yeah its not just a bolt on job like and then wait for the engine to blow. I just need a list and then i buy the parts. Cause i cant drive for three months so any body want to post up a list making in ten times easier for me lol. Cheers all for the comments so far peeps
