I'm thinking of buying a jam racing ecu off our local auction site it's a rare jam racing one would the manual transmission ecu easily replace my auto one and would all the features still work? Are the plugs the same?

Dean.

no manual and auto are completely different.

as they have different functions also for the automatic gearbox etc.

afraid it wouldnt work!

better off getting a piggyback instead

only manual and auto ecu's that appear to be interchangesble are pre '92
and thats just going from what i can find out using ecu wiring diagrams!

all other versions differ in pin configuration

Aye, the last guy to bravely try it in his glanza ended up losing 2nd gear.

Try before you buy or go piggyback Deano.

jay why have you quoted me?

i was saying it only appears that PRE 92 are the same and all others are different!
there for you cant go swapping ecu's unless its between a PRE92 manual and a PRE92 auto

It wouldnt even plug in if i remeber correct.
I can remeber Enzo looking for 1 for his auto for a long time and its something to do with the gear selection or something like that can only briefly remeber it

I cud just use a Emanage mate but wen its all the rollers get them to keep the kick down on or it will mess the box up

This discussion is about using a manual ECU in an automatic car, I would imagine there would not be the same issues faced when using an auto ECU in a manual car.

It's still a big gamble if playing with aftermarket ECU's due to the cost involved.
