ps3 has better and more powerful hardware, free internet (never experienced problems when playing games online), a bluray player and GT5! It's a no brainer....

I'm using a 37" 1080p samsung, true hd games looks amazing, modern warfare looked really good!!

I work for ccomet electricals and we sell more ps3s but the xboxs we do sell fk up with red ring of deth and ps3 as 8 prossesors agains the xbox as about 2 resident evel 5 as maxed the x box grafix but asnt ever started on ps3 ...ps3 all the way

But saying tht the xbox isn't as good it only plays 720p 1080I the ps3 plays 1080p much better even the xboxs rep as a ps3

All the elites have jasper boards so should help prevent the RROD. Although my elite never came with a hdmi cable iteself, but my first elite did, but it was limited edition then I think.

But power in a games console isn't everything. The sega saturn was more powerful than the playstation but the playstation sold better as it was easier to develop for, the only people that seemed to get the best from the saturn was the AM in house developers. And sony probably paid more to get the games on there than sega did lol.

...the 360's can play 720, 1080i, and 1080p, as they have an HDMI connection. However it is up to the games developer to produce games that can be displayed in a higher format. You might have a 1080p tv but if the game can only run to 720 or 1080i then thats what you get.

And you can download/rent HD quality movies from the marketplace, no need for blu ray ;)

x box is always gonna get rated higher because the ps3 was expensive when new so the x box has sold much more!

fact is although x box may have a few better games, but the ps3 is a much better console over all i had my ps3 since day of release and has never let me down, much quieter than the x box and the new ps network has loads of features in the latest updates!

I think xbox is great but you can't complete compare the two inless you have both as most of these comments are from people that have just the xbox or ps3! Buy an xbox and get the PS3 with a mobile phone contract, then you've got hovis.. best of both.

Yeh i have played on both a few times not enough to make a decision just wanted to see everyones opinions on both consoles to try and help me a decision before buying either ... im still torn!

Know how you feel mate I was there at one point but went for the xbox, It's cheaper (fair enough you have to pay 33 a year for gold membership) but atleast then the games run smoothly without lagging. There are many better games on the xbox from what i can see, but then the ps3 has all the extras as they say blu ray player and all of that ! so it's a hard move to make! =]

Yeh the elite package was a good price and included 2 games! Did you pay extra for warranty so you get 3 years? Yeh £33 a year is nothing for the amount of online gaming i would do!! Im slightly coming round to the idea of a xbox 360 simply as its cheaper but from what people have said its just as gd as the PS3!

I have both, and i very rarely play the 360 anymore. Plus the new PS3 slim looks sooooo much cooler then the 360 ;)

Yeah tis a tough one, I never went with the extended warranty on mine, Was told I could send it in for repairs if it ever got the rrod as it's a defect in there product?

ive had a 360 for ages but im thinking of getting a ps3 in the next week or so as i cant wait for gran turismo also that unchartered 2 looks quite good.... anyone shed any light on it

i got my elite from hmv with 2 new games for £225 last year it came with 3 years warrenty which is plenty.

xbox elite 2 wireless controllers forza 3 need for speed the new 1 lego batman and another new game £197 bargain from asda.

I think the Xbox controller is so much better aswell.
The PS3 one is really light and shit,
Go for Xbox mate you won't regret it.
