iv been a member on here for a while now and ive notices a hell of a lot of threads on the engine topics. seems to be mainly problems. are glanzas prone to issues?? i dont wanna buy one and for it to be in the garage more than in my hands.

chances are the issues are because of incorrect tuning etc but just thought i should ask, you guys are the experts, please pass on your views so i have a clearer idea if its the car for me :)

appreciated guys/gals!

My GT has only ever been into the garage for mods, clutch and service items. I've owned it for 3 years nearly.

if you mod it right you should have no problems:)

ive had mine over three years i think and the only problems was a driveshaft and a window motor, things that you'd expect to give up anyway

Well it is a toyota so if kept stock and serviced, shouldnt have much problems. Its only when you start modding and start upping boost etc you'll probably start to experience problems from not doing stuff right and generally more higher chance a problem will occur. Will apply to most cars you come across....

yeah i thought that. maybe id be best buying one standard then and keeping it that way as im not all clued up when it comes to the workings of everything in the engine. are parts fairly easy to get a hold of these days? id imagin it will only get better as the popularity of the starlets are growing here in the uk?

apart from the brakes needing an overhaul and the injectors causing the car to start a bit funny sometimes ive had no problems with the car in the 4 years ive owned it. ive done everything on it myself, apart from the MOT

Can't really add too much to that statement. Sums it up nicely Kev!

I noticed the same! A few engines are going pop, turbo's seals going....

My Starlet only ever been into garages for MOT's, engine went bang last year but done all the work with me old man. Can't fault it since I had the new engine in and then getting the fuelling sorted.

From what I've read on here, just look after them! Regular oil & filter changes, basic service items and you won't go wrong!!
